Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flexible Performance Recently purchased JBL Arena 130 bookshelf speakers. Very large and open soundstage with good clarity and imaging. Speakers sounded ok out of box but with a 5-10 day period of useage they really start to shine! Using theese for home theatre and music and speakers have the ability to play very very loud with little to no distortion. Good bass response as well I also own the JBL Arena 170 and speakers have same drivers the Arena 130 is a great choice for limited space options. You would be hard pressed to find a bookshelf speaker in this price range that offers such great performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound quality is unmatched at pricepoint I bought the JBL Arena 130s when they went on sale for 100 the pair and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. I just ordered the 125c center channel and will continue adding parts to my system until I reach the 5.1. Do yourself the favor and match your 120s/130s with the 125c.

Can the Arena 130 speakers be used as floor speakers. Can they be put up on six inch pedestals ?

Asked by: lb1950
Look at how Cinemas & Concert halls setup their speakers. They array them above, but aimed at the listener. Creates a beam of sound to ensure the sound reaches the listener with it's best potential. Get em' off the ground & aimed at the ears. 1 last thing: If setting up surround speakers? Always have them at least 18 inches above the listener so the sound isn't creaming them and overpowering the front speakers which deliver the anchoring sound. ~ peace

Hi! The Arena 130 speakers will work without any issues, but what we suggest is to also contact the distributor of your receiver, so that they can also confirm the details to you about compatibility.

I have a yamaha r-s202 reciever with 100w per channel..this speaker will be work fine if I connect this? thank you

Asked by: cherryjohn
It would work perfectly fine. The Yamaha R-S202 drives 100W at 8 ohms while the Arena 130 can handle 125W at 8 ohms so It would not have any problems at all.

Hi, I have an A/V receiver Sony STR-DE497, range of 8-16 ohms, max 100W is the power. I want to stereo speakers, not 5.1 any more. Which speakers do you suggest? I like bass less, and have a large room.

Asked by: honorable
If you want stereo speakers with less bass then the Arena 130 is a good choice.

Your answers on rms and peak power are confusing rms power is different than peak power so if the speaker handles 125 watts rms there should be a peak power to handle any sound bursts that may occur.example 125 watt rms 200 watt peak please clarify.

Asked by: jOSEPHjoses
We only mentioned that the RMS of the Arena 130 is between 20W- 125W . Meaning that any receiver between the 25W to 125W can still use this speaker. It's better not to think about Peak power when trying to figure out if the receiver is compatible with the receiver.

Hi, my amp has an output of 100 x 2 rms at 8ohm, they manage to maintain such power? thanks.

Asked by: frankit
The ARENA 130 can handle up to 125 watts. This means that any receiver with a power output of 125 watts per channel or less will work fine with this speaker.

I recently purchased the Arena 130 speakers and I noticed that the required minimum maximum wattage is 20 to 125 watts. I'm trying to match a stereo receiver with those specs, however, I need to know if the wattage is per channel or total. I'm looking

Asked by: Sir JamALot
When trying to match a receiver to the ARENA 130 speakers, it is the 125W RMS rating that you should be basing it on. Generally, any receiver that outputs anything near that wattage would be perfect, preferably a little lower to avoid overpowering the speakers.
